Empty Cages, Not Larger Ones
Tom Regan appeared with host William Friday on a show called NC People which aired in North Carolina circa 1987. Tom rings as true today as he did then.
Tom Regan's body of work spans decades, but the one thing each of his projects have in common, be they books or videos or lectures, is the shining truth of animal rights.
We have a lot to learn from the mind of Tom Regan — about how far we've come, how we proceed, as well as the irrefutable evidence that animals, like non-human animals, are "subjects of a life" and therefore entitled to inalienable rights.

"Being kind to animals is not enough. Avoiding cruelty is not enough. Housing animals in more comfortable, larger cages is not enough. Whether we exploit animals to eat, to wear, to entertain us, or to learn, the truth of animal rights requires empty cages, not larger cages."
—Tom Regan
