OUR HORSE SANCTUARY

Welcome to our hands-on horse rescue project

Please note: We do not have horses available for adoption at this time.

The Animals Voice Horse Sanctuary is an equine rescue project inspired by an abused and slaughter-bound Arabian horse named Shilo (read his harrowing story on our About Shilo page). The Animals Voice specializes in rescuing salvagable equines, horses who simply need a second chance. By recovering these animals and finding them homes, more room is made for horses still in need of rescue.

The Animals Voice Horse Sanctuary is located about 80 miles north of Sacramento in northern California. This special rescue facility is nestled among the state’s almond and walnut farmlands and is the perfect quiet country place to rehabilitate abused and abandoned horses (and other equines).

In exchange for a tax-deductible donation, The Animals Voice Horse Sanctuary also offers temporary lay-ups for injured horses, horses in need of daily or hourly veterinary care, retired horses, and horses in transit. Please contact us for details.

Founded by someone who’s had a lifelong commitment to the rescue and care of abused and abandoned equines (see About Laura), The Animals Voice has directly and indirectly rescued hundreds of horses over the past two decades. From the wild horses of the southeastern Oregon desert to the slaughter-bound equines she’s pulled from kill pens, Laura Moretti and The Animals Voice are experts at salvaging equines.
